The first 10 minutes of this episode alone are better than anything that was done previously this season.
And yeah, I hated Spencer when the season started because of that shit he said to Kurt, but he’s growing on me, and he was adorable during most of the episode. Also, I lost all hope I had for Kurt after he got married, so yeah, I don’t really care if he said shit to Kurt anymore.
The Kurt I loved was an amazing guy, but he got killed during season 3, apparently, and got replaced by a doormat who is also a sex toy to Blaine. I don’t care about that guy; I care about the guy who faced Azimio and Dave while dressed as Lady Gaga and danced Single Ladies in front of a football team.
I don’t care about the dumbfuck who can’t make his own decisions about his relationships and makes the same mistakes over and over again, AKA season4/5/6!Kurt.
Well aware of the dire implications should the new New Directions/Warblers supergroup fail to defeat Vocal Adrenaline at Sectionals, the infighting among the gleeks begins to take its toll on morale, prompting the team’s two weakest dancers, Spencer and Roderick, to seek the uncompromising help of Kitty in order to improve their moves and bolster their odds at victory, and leaving one gleek to decide how far he is willing to go for a chance at victory. Sam and Kurt’s concern over Rachel’s looming decision to return to Broadway before completing her degree at NYADA continues to grow. While they each try to convince her to complete her studies, former flame Jesse St. James makes an unexpected visit - and a startling admission - in a bid to convince her to take the job. Meanwhile, Sue remains full of surprises as her all-out assault on Will and the Glee Club reaches heretofore unseen heights.
HEY, GLEE, IT WOULD BE GRATE IF KURT AND SAM WERE INSTEAD CONCERNED ABOUT BLAINE, WHO IS A SCHOOL DROP OUT AS WELL AND DOESN'T HAVE PEOPLE LINING UP TO OFFER HIM JOBS. OR MAYBE KURT AND BLAINE COULD HAVE A SL ABOUT THEIR OWN LIVES INSTEAD OF ALWAYS REVOLVING AROUND RACHEL.
You're probably worried about them, but I wouldn't if I were you, because ten to one, they've eloped to New York where they belong. You don't belong there; you're a quitter. You quit Broadway, you did that horrible TV show. You get what you deserve, sister.
JUST LIKE I SUSPECTED ANY FONDNESS FOR THIS PARTICULAR GROUP OF N00BS DISAPPEARED THE SECOND THEY HAD MORE THAN A COUPLE OF MINUTES OF SCREENTIME. ALSO, IS IT RLY THAT HARD TO FIND PEOPLE WHO CAN BOTH SING AND ACT?
If last week’s wedding episode could not bring the show’s viewership mark over the two million mark, did this week’s considerably lower-key “Child Star” possess any chance of doing so? Did it possess any chance of escaping the season six ratings prison?
Obviously not. And it obviously did not manage to do so.
According to fast national data, Friday’s “Glee” matched last week’s 0.6 adults 18-49 rating but drew a reduced viewership average of 1.67 million. The second-weakest viewership average on record, the number only bests the 1.58 million drawn on February 6.
I think both Kurt and Blaine are done singing in the present/future storyline. “Somebody Loves You” and “Our Day Will Come” was the end of that. We will maybe get some Kurt singing in the 2009 episode (which is his past), and a line or two from them in the group number, but that’s it.
But don’t be sad! You see…they don’t NEED to sing anymore. Singing, for both of them, was symbolic. With Kurt, it was the only way he could be heard sometimes. But as he has grown he has found other ways. People listen to him now. Blaine couldn’t say his feelings, he could only sing them. And when he did it didn’t always end well (“When I Get You Alone,” “Teenage Dream” redux at Callbacks). And when he had his breakdown, not even music helped. When Dave broke it off and sent Blaine to Kurt with his blessing, he said “don’t sing it, just say it.” And after that weird interruption with Walter, he did.
Yes, Glee is a singing show, and we love Chris and Darren’s voices, but when you think, really think about the stories and their arcs…yeah, they don’t have to sing what they feel. Kurt will be an actor but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a singer too. And Blaine, I’d love to see become a teacher that doesn’t feel the need to inject himself into his students’ numbers (WILL…). They can just say it now, and I think that, for them, is growth and progress.
I FIND IT STRANGE THAT LOLMERICANS APPARENTLY CONSIDER GOING TO A WEDDING TOGETHER ACCEPTABLE AS A DATE, SINCE AT WEDDINGS EVERYONE FOCUSES ON THE MARRYING COUPLE AND YOU DON'T GET ANY TIME TO BE ALONE WITH THE PERSON YOU CAME WITH.
