With only a few episodes left, Friday’s “A Wedding,” after all, represented the last major “event” the series will offer prior to the March 20 finale. It was obviously not going to draw a legitimately impressive number, but could it at least produce a meaningful rise from last week’s performance?
The answer is no.
The lure of the wedding was unable to drive an increase in adults 18-49 and facilitated a very small boost in total viewership.
After posting a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 1.81 million viewers last week, “Glee” scored a 0.6 with 1.89 million for “A Wedding.”
INTEREST IN THIS EPISODE RLY FIZZLED, DIDN'T IT? THERE ISN'T EVEN A DATALOUNGE THREAD ON IT. IF THEY RLY WANTED PPL TO PAY ATTENTION AND TUNE IN, MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE ACTUALLY PUSHED A KURT/BLAINE WEDDING INSTEAD OF MAKING IT THIS FARCE OF A SURPRISE. HOW DUMB DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO TRY AND HIDE A POTENTIAL AUDIENCE DRAW?
After a month of being married to Blaine, Kurt realizes that he made a horrible mistake. Kurt discusses his options with LeRoy and LeRoy points out since he never obtained a marriage license, he isn’t technically married to Blaine in the first place.
However, when Kurt talks about it with Burt, Kurt discovers that his father helped Blaine file an application for a marriage license by forging his name.
Burt is charged with a C felony and Kurt leaves everyone behind for New York.
Morrison sings the final song in the final scene of the series finale. I'm not going to spoil anything by telling you what song, but Morrison said, "It was a beautiful send-off. But it was tough. I was singing to all the kids and Amber Riley starts crying and I'm like, 'Come on, don't do this to me right now.' And then Lea Michele starts crying and then Darren Criss and Chris Colfer."
UNRELATED TO GLEE ENDING OR THE WEDDING, IS ANYONE READING ALL THE HEARINGVERSE STORIES/HEADCANON SNIPPITS? I USED TO THINK IT WAS CUTE, BUT LATELY I FEEL SUPER SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT READING THE SOAP OPERA AU.
